Shelby Tortorello is a Licensed Professional Counselor (#37PC01123800) in the State of New Jersey. She holds a MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Monmouth University and a BS in Psychology from Liberty University.  Furthermore, Shelby is a Mental Health Counselor – Limited Permit (#113033-01) in the State of New York where she is working under the supervision of Stephanie Lawrence, Licensed Mental Health Counselor (#007696).

Shelby has garnered experience in both private agency and hospital settings, facilitating both individual and group counseling sessions. She is passionate about working therapeutically with children and supporting parents with their own mental health. She strives to meet each client exactly where they are, and work with them to come up with a unique treatment plan that will best support them as they make progress to achieve their individual goals. Additionally, Shelby is actively participating in qualitative research on psychodrama. She worked under the supervision of a Monmouth University professor to actively participate in research, and has presented at conferences on applying Shame Resilience Theory to clinical practice.  Lastly, Shelby worked as a high school psychology teacher at Hawthorne Christian Academy.
