Dr. Sabrina Durand
Ph.D., LMHC (NY)
Dr. Sabrina Durand is dedicated to bringing hope into the lives of those who are hurting. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of New York (#015009), Dr. Durand has a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Capella University. Additionally, she graduated with Honors (Magna Cum Laude) from Nyack College’s Alliance Graduate School of Counseling (AGSC) where she obtained a Masters in Mental Health Counseling. Prior to that, she received a BA in Psychology and a BA in Teacher Education from Brooklyn College.
Working with a diverse mix of clients, Dr. Durand provides individual, couples, family, and group counseling for depression, anxiety, relationships, sexual abuse, substance abuse, and trauma. Furthermore, she is currently the Director of the Master of Arts in Counseling (MAC) program at Pillar College, and she previously worked as the program coordinator for the Online Masters in Mental Health Counseling at Nyack College’s Alliance Graduate School of Counseling. Dr. Durand is the co-author of two peer-reviewed articles: (1) “Effect of Infidelity, Initiator Status, and Spiritual-Well Being on Men’s Divorce Adjustment” which was published in February 2015 in the Journal of Divorce and Remarriage and (2) “Spiritual Factors Predict State and Trait Anxiety” published in the Journal of Religion and Health in October 2016. Lastly, Dr. Durand is a member of the American Counseling Association, and she is trilingual (English, French, and Haitian Creole).
